'Echoic' was created with simplicity at its heart, Barney Ross-Smith seeking to extract the most impact from few elements. Every track is led with a simple synthesizer line, processed through the Korg Monotron Delay, a dirt cheap delay unit with loads of analog character.

Field recordings used throughout the project were recorded in Thailand in the summer of 2024.

The project blends gritty synthesizer lines with softer harmonics and field recordings. On 'Echoic', Barney Ross-Smith aims to marry harmony with texture to foster rich and atmospheric soundscapes.
